Club Havana | The ugly violet exterior hides a rather pleasant up-market trendy bar. No draft beers, but at least they've got Penn Pilsner in bottles. I didn't try anything from the extensive cocktail menu.

Doc's Place | There is a large bar / restaurant downstairs, upstairs a small bar and a large deck outside. Very busy and noisy on a Saturday night. They sell the usual range of domestic drafts and imported bottles.

Elbow Room | This large multi-roomed restaurant / bar is definitely more oriented towards diners, and wasn't very welcoming when fifty of us turned up on a pub crawl. The decor is somewhat peculiar, especially in the function room at the back. The daily drinks specials include $2.50 for a very good Bloody Mary on Saturday.

Harris' Grill | This extremely popular bar / restaurant has an impressive array of domestic and imported beers on draught. The front yard is a nice place to relax on a warm evening and I'm told there's a patio at the back as well. On a pleasant evening you'll have to be early to get a table outside - They operate a waiting list!

Shadyside Saloon | A plain, dark, friendly bar with a good range of draught beers which includes Pyramid Hefeweiss.

Sharp Edge Restaurant | This small friendly bar has a superb selection of beer available. They have
two British beer engines for serving cask conditioned brews - the Rogue
Shakespear Stout was splendid when I was there. There are 24 taps for
Belgian beers and another 24 for other parts of the world. In addition,
there is an enormous range of bottles from around the world, ranging
up to $70 for 3 litres of Duvel (Not recommended for the single drinker!).
Er, there's also a restaurant but, to be honest, I never got past the beer menu so I don't know what the food is like! Last visited April 2001 |

Tai Pei | This is a Chinese restaurant and I'm not really sure why we visited it on a pub crawl! Bottled national brands only.
