Charlie's Alehouse | A very nice and popular tourist trap bar in the Navy Pier complex, with an impressive array of draft beers including Bass and a very nice American Hefe Weiss. Good food but not cheap.
Last visited March 2000.

Dublin's | A pleasant, friendly and always busy "Irish"

for having Pink Floyd's Echos on the jukebox when I went
in! Last visited March 2000. |
Rush / Belle Vue |
Fado | A well known multi-storey Irish pub, all very fake
inside but rather nice. Live UK football at 09.00 with a
superb-looking Irish breakfast. Last visited March 2000. |
Grand / Clark |
Gibsons | A rather up market bar / restaurant with some very
nice wood panelling. Last visited March 2000. |

Hannge Uppe | A fun popular night club, $3 in and reasonable beer
prices. On the ground floor a small disco playing modern
stuff, and 70s and 80s music in an enormous multi-roomed
basement. Great decor but what a shame to nail vinyl
records on the ceiling and walls. Last visited March 2000. |
|
Harrison Grill | A typical, but very small, hotel bar in the Holiday
Inn. Glasses so cold the beer actually freezes. Last visited March 2000. |

has an LSTV and lots of small ones showing different
sports. Last visited March 2000. |

Reilly's Daughter | An "Irish Pub" according to the sign. | Concourse B, Midway Airport |
Rock Bottom Brewery | A large restaurant / bar with about ten of their own brews on tap. The solitary hand pump was out of use when I visited. The Terminal Stout was very nice, and the 7% abv Bourbon Stout, aged in Jack Daniels barrels was even nicer. Their Sub Zero barley wine was OK but tasted a little thin and sweet.
