ELIZABETH

Algarve This combined restaurant / pub / take-away was very busy on a Saturday night, especially the restaurant where the Portugese-style food was excellent!

HOBOKEN

Maxwell's A pleasant bar/restaurant with a range of drafts including a German weissbier. Behind is a large room with a stage and another bar, for live music which seems to be on most nights of the week. I saw Michelle Shocked here.

JERSEY CITY

Bamboo Garden Sports Bar A small "sports bar" (i.e. it's got a couple of TVs) attached to a restaurant. When I visited on a wet Sunday afternoon I found a handful of customers enjoying test match cricket. Bottled beer only.

NEWARK

Track One Bar A small busy station bar squeezed into an odd-shaped corner of the station subway. Draught beers include Yeungling, Bass and Guinness. I am told this has been renamed The Blue Comet Lounge since I visited.
