NEW YORK

Blarney Stone Mixed US sports and pretend Irish bric-a-brac crowds the walls of this friendly Irish bar, which had a genuine Irish barman when I visited. Food is served from a small counter at the front. 6th Avenue / 32nd Street
Diner on the Corner A pleasant small bar serving a few domestic brews on draft is situated in the corner of this large diner. The breakfasts are good. Broadway / W 32nd Street
Landmark Tavern I happened upon this gem as I was leaving the Intrepid Sea Air and Space Museum. The traditional interior has a tiled floor and very nice dark wood panelling. There is also a restaurant area behind. I had an extremely nice IPA from the New Amsterdam Brewery.
This bar is used as a location in the TV series Spin City.
11th Avenue / 46th Street
Snug Harbor Center Not really a bar, but when I went to an open air concert here (Jethro Tull) the beer tent was serving some excellent brews from the New York Harbor Brewery. Richmond Terrace, Staten Island
Times Square Brewery PictureThere was a small ground level bar and then a much larger restaurant upstairs with an entertaining view of the frantic traffic. Beers brewed on the premises included a rather fine Bock. Excellent food and prompt service despite them being extremely busy. I'm not sure what the Concord on top was for!
This bar has now been demolished.
Times Square / 42nd Street
Viva Pancho The small bar at the front of this excellent Mexican restaurant serves only bottled beers. Broadway / 44th Street

NIAGARA FALLS

Arterial The neon sign was broken on the front of this dodgy-looking bar so I may have got the name wrong.
Recently I have been in receipt of a message from this bar, objecting to my "dodgy-looking" remark and telling me that this is a "clean, well respected restaurant and lounge". Not having been in I can't comment on that but I stick by my description of the outside.
Niagara / 4th
Players A plain clean and tidy pub with pool table and miniature ten-pin at the rear. Two draughts include Michelob, plus the usual range of domestic bottles. Niagara / 4th
Press Box   Niagara / 4th
Prism's This typical hotel bar in the Days Inn is only open Fridays and Saturdays in the off season. Main Road
