Bulldog Hand pumpTetley / 4X, Carlsberg Nice decor successfully hides the late-60s architecture in this large two bar pub. "Big Steak" food. LSTV.

Crown Inn Boddingtons, Tetley, Trophy / Heineken Very nice original wood panelling, especially in the bar, which has a "social club" atmosphere. LSTV in the lounge. Large bowling green. Appears as "The Swan" in Brookside. Rebuilt in 1935 replacing an 18th century original.

Greenalls, Stones, Tetley The up market plastic totally fake decor looks quite nice in this large busy one-bar pub. Hand pumps not in use.

Muirhead Avenue East / Meadow Lane
Deysbrook Tetley / 4X, Skol Basic bar, and a lounge that is decorated like someone's living room (someone extremely posh, that is). I am told this pub will be closing soon.

Hand pumpCains, Hand pumpPedigree, John Smith's / Carlsberg, Foster's This large opened out food-oriented pub used to have very nice unusual art deco and neon decor, but follwing refurbishment in May 2003 the interior is more traditional - still very pleasant though. There's a nice beer yard at the back. Food served all day.   Play Your Cards RightDay5   QuizDay4

Old Derby Arms Worthington / Carling Very scruffy two-bar boozer. Large other side closed. Across the road from the LFC training ground (Melwood) but I doubt you'll see many of the players in here! Now closed, I'm told.

Royal Standard Hand pumpCains, Hand pumpGreenalls / Carling The decor in this up market one-bar pub was disappointingly plastic compared with the antique-looking exterior. Food looks good. Not visited since it reopened late 1998 after a period of closure, presumably for refurbishment.

Yew Tree Greenalls A nice large three bar pub hidden in the back streets off Princess Drive. A fine bar, a large back room with two pool tables and a nice looking lounge closed on my visit. The original 30s/50s decor has been preserved.
It appeared in the film "51st State", playing the role of a Manchester pub.
Now closed and burned out.   DiscoDay1   KaraokeDay6   Live musicDay5
