A large multi-roomed multi-level pub in an enormous old house. The nicely restrained early 60s decor I admired on my first visit has now gone, which I feel is a shame as it was rather unusual to find this preserved in good condition. However, the traditional style refurbishment has been done extremely nicely, so I can't really complain. The food is jolly good as well, and very reasonably priced. In 2022 the range of real ales had been reduced from the seven I saw in 2017, but the quality remianed excellent.

A very pleasant up market dining pub in the middle of nowhere. I had a good pint of cask.
