Rustic wood and bare brick decor in this very pleasant pub / restaurant which was refurbished in late '98. Refurbished again in August 2001 and now more (fake) olde-worlde. The courtyard at the side is great in sunny weather.

A large multi-roomed old pub in the Ember Inns chain, splendid inside and out. The refurbishment in 2001 added an extension with a very good modern-styled interior.
Grade II listed building.

A pleasant and friendly pub well looked after. There's a large beer yard at the rear which is very pleasant and popular in good weather.

Crying Tree (Grange Manor)
|
Grange Manor: A large old house with a truly spectacular interior and an impressive, if somewhat overgrown, sunken garden behind. It's a shame the beer doesn't live up to the wonderful surroundings. "Fundays" kids play area and "Celebrations" function suite attached.
Relaunched as a gastro-pub in 2011.
I'm told this is now closed.

Falstaff (Boulevard)
|
An up market 60s pub with plastic decor somewhat marred by excessive food publicity, including, on one occasion, a giant cardboard Father Christmas on the 2nd of September! The menu looks good.
Now closed and demolished.
