Allerton Oak (New York) |
New York: This nicely done out open and airy one room bar with a slight American theme has bare brick walls and a wooden floor. Situated next door to Yates's it captures the customers who want a lower noise level! The fans are fun.
Not visited since it changed name.

John Brodie (Yates's Wine Lodge)

A popular lively pub, nicely done out when it was a Yates's, and not much changed since.
The food looks good.

Pi

 |
Opened in 2011, a pleasant larger than average micro-pub, very quiet when I visited. Two shops joined together.
Pi closed in early 2020, I hear a new operation is to open here.

Storrsdale

 |
A classic 50s (or 30s ?) brick building with ceramic panels, and inside the decor looks original, although presumably refurbished and certainly beautifully looked after. This style of pub is one of my favourites, it's a shame there's so few left in original condition like this one.
Excellent real ales.

Three Piggies (Vinci)
 |
Vinci, in 2000: On the ground floor is a tiny wooden-floored bar. The restaurant upstairs is much larger.
Three Piggies: Good modern decor in this food-oriented place where drinkers are also welcome. Excellent real ale is served.
