The building is an impressive inter-war roadhouse. Nothing historical remains in the bright modern comfortable interior of this Hungry Horse pub/restaurant.

New Chronicle (Chronicle) (No. 6)
|
This was originally a member of the Smith and Jones chain, a modern open food-oriented pub in what appears to be shop conversion.
Later it was renamed No. 6, I never visited.
In 2018 it became the New Chronicle, a modern boozer with rather excellent decor.
In 2019 it closed and reverted to use as a shop.

Three Stags

A large Ember Inns pub concentrating on food but nevertheless offering a surprisingly large range of decent ale. The pleasant interior is partially knocked through but retaining some separation between different areas. Actually all Ember Inns seem to look the same. On my Wednesday lunchtime visit they were doing a good trade in meals for the local pensioners.
