This enormous two-sided pub is friendly and popular. In 2000, I couldn't have a pint of bitter because the gas had run out and a fifteen minute search failed to come up with an adapter for the new cylinder.
Closed for a time in the noughties.

In 2014 noted boarded up, but displaying a large "Under new management" sign.

Doric: In this large two bar Tetley house the lounge side has an impressive high ceiling, a real fire and LSTV. Changes since my first visit in 1999 include the removal of the clutter of pictures and the staff's "Customer Relationship Skills" diplomas on the walls, and the loss of real ale which included a house bitter.
Not visited since it joined the At Will chain of "Cock and" pubs.
Now closed.

In 1999 this was called the Manor House and I visited a rather pleasant, spotlessly clean, one bar nicely decorated pub, with a nice looking function room attached.
In 2003 I found it closed on a Thursday evening, although the function rooms may still be operating.

In 1999 I noted an impressive exterior, partly half-timbered with an unusual balcony, on this run down two bar local. The lounge was closed on my visit and the bar side was grubby. I returned in 2003 to find the place closed and demolished.

Seaforth Arms Hotel

This large clean and tidy pub retains a number of original features, including wood and glass screens, a ceramic fire surround and some fine tilework. The exterior is also impressive. Both inside and out have been nicely tidied up since my first visit.
Grade II listed building.
Re-opened in 2021 after a long period of closure.
